Acupuncture is a form of treatment that involves the insertion of thin needles into the body. It has been practiced by the Chinese for thousands of years and has become a popular form of treatment in manual therapy, especially for pain relief. The insertion of the needle into the skin and connective tissue stimulates our nervous system to release natural pain-killers known as endorphins. Another mechanism by which acupuncture acts, is by creating a very small amount of damage in the area to re-initiate a healing response.
Acupuncture is used to treat many conditions including:
- Low back pain
- Sciatica
- Hip Bursitis
- Headaches
- Neck pain
- Shoulder pain including the rotator cuff
- Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow)
- Tendonitis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

- Tinnitus
